Races are dwindling down for the 2009 Tri season. However, there are two more big races available in October.
Hickory Knob Sprint and Olympic 10/17 in McCormick, SC. This is a beautiful course and a sanctioned race by the Southeastern Collegiate Triathlon Conference so we’ll be competing against other colleges and universities from surrounding states. If you would like to do this race, let us know ASAP (Marina Fleming
404.514.7515) and we will help you put together a quick 1 month training program to make this a possibility. Yes, one month is do-able.

Barrier Island ECOthon 10/25 in Isle of Palms. This is not a Tri per say but it is an awesome local race and is still a swim.bike.run with a kayak portion thrown in. Participants kayak to Dewees barrier island, run across the Dewees, swim an inter coastal to Caper’s Island, run across Caper’s, swim an inter coastal to IOP, run across IOP and then with a bike portion across IOP and Sullivan’s…for the endurance race anyway. This is a charity race for the Lance Armstrong foundation.
Endurance Course- solo or teams of 2 or 3. Kayak 6 miles, Run 10, Swim .5 mile, Bike 18 miles
$80 per person before 9/26
$85 until 10/10
Sprint Course- teams of 2. First person Kayaks 3 miles, second person runs 5 mi and swims .25 mile, Bike together 15 miles.
$80 per person before 9/26
$85 until 10/10
In addition, there are numerous local road races throughout the fall. For those of us who enjoy running, it’d be awesome to run some of those races together as a team. No, they aren’t triathlons but they are still good for training and for the familiarity of racing. Below are just a few for thought…
